Background
Our client had designed a new investment
proposition around three different
investment options
for the “at retirement” market. Prior to launch there was a to better
understand how to ensure that the proposition is fit for purpose becomes
a
solution of choice for advisers in a competitive marketplace.
Objectives
- Understand how advisers use the investment propositions offered by competitors and why, with an understanding of whether the proposed proposition would dislodge current behaviours.Understand what is considered to be the ‘day one’ core product and service wrap requirement in the current climate from a pension drawdown provider and what is deemed to be acceptable as a future development
- Understand whether there would be sufficient take-up of its new product when it launches and whether there is any merit in drip feeding various aspects of the product functionality
Solution
- 40x telephone depth interviews were conducted in total among a cross section of IFAs active in the “at retirement market”.
- 5 of these interviews were conducted with IFAs who have responsibility for selecting and managing their firm’s investment panels (platforms, off platform providers and funds)
